Real Madrid midfielder, Aurélien Tchouaméni, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
The France international sustained the injury during the team's training session on Monday and underwent surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.
Tchouaméni was forced off in the second half against Valencia in La Liga last weekend after appearing to twist his knee while attempting to win a ball back from a counter-attack.
He had made a number of impressive appearances since joining Real Madrid from Monaco last summer, including playing in the Champions League final at Wembley last month.
The 21-year-old is expected to undergo rehabilitation following his operation and could make a full recovery in time for next season.
